The Origin of the G7 Logo
When Eddie Grier opened the doors to his new office furniture dealership in 1999, his oldest brother, Ben Grier, was battling cancer and passed away that same year.
In addition to running all aspects of his start-up business, Eddie also took on the role as patriarch of his Family. Eddie promised Ben before he died that he would look after his sons Chad, Jason and Brandon.
Eddie became a fixture at Chad’s sons sporting events and birthday parties much like a grandfather would do. Actually, exactly like what Ben would have done. Eddie often can be found on the sidelines at Davidson Day School football games where Chad coaches and Will, Nash and Hayes each played…wearing number 7.
Eddie has always run his business as a Family business with employees who are viewed as an extension of our Family. Now with Chad as his partner, the vision is for Chad’s brothers and sons to all someday be part of Grier Interiors.
So Eddie and 6 of his nephews make up 7 Griers. The number 7 also is a special number to the Family most recently worn by Will as a quarterback in the US Army All American Game and for the Florida Gators (and worn a VERY long time ago by Chad for the East Carolina Pirates).
We are very proud to be Grier Interiors and to represent many generations of our Family who were born, raised and live here in the Charlotte area. But if you refer to us as G7 we won’t mind at all!
